Testing for Alzheimer’s Disease at Home

The Montreal Cognitive Assessment (MoCA) was designed as a rapid screening instrument for mild cognitive dysfunction. It assesses different cognitive domains: attention and concentration, executive functions, memory, language, visuoconstructional skills, conceptual thinking, calculations, and orientation. Time to administer the MoCA is approximately 10 minutes. The total possible score is 30 points; a score of 26 or above is considered normal.

The 5 Elements Health Program

The 5 Elements Health Program is a life-changing, preventive medical program designed by Dr. Qingsong Xiao in 2016 specifically for Diabetes and Prediabetes. Program includes acupuncture treatments, special exercise guided by professional coaches, Natural Chinese herbal medicine, and educational classes.

After 2 successful courses the past 12 months, the program is now holding its 3rd course. With lab tests, questionnaires and consultations with doctors, researchers find the 5 Elements Health Program to improve participants’ HbA1c level, cholesterol, triglycerides, hypertension, energy level, mental focus, quality of sleep and more.

In collaboration with Great Wall Chinese Medicine, EMed Research Center hopes the 5 Elements Health Program can help more people in the high-rick diabetes population.
